The Wet Lab is hosting a medicinal chemistry lecture on Thursday Jan 19th from 6:30pm – 7:30pm at the San Diego Central Library. Dr. Ben Naman from UCSD/Scripps Institute of Oceanography will discuss how various natural products can be used to improve human wellness.
We are truly surrounded by chemicals – in the air that we breathe and the food that we eat, are added to foods, consumer product goods, and define our system of medicine. Dr. Naman will examine the ways that researchers study the chemistry of our natural environment, in sources ranging from essential oils to dietary supplements and from domestic or tropical plants to algae and bacteria in the ocean.
This event is part of the San Diego Wetlab’s citizen science lecture series held every first Tuesday at 6:30pm at the La Jolla Library and every third Thursday at 6:30pm at the Downtown Library. Please check the San Diego library system events page for location details and changes in the upcoming schedule.
