Thinking Outside The Bottle: Weaning Ourselves From Wasteful Water Ways with Ned Daugherty

Citizen Science - Fall 2015

Did you know it is possible to grow plants in salt water?  Don’t miss this fascinating lecture (Thursday Sept 17th, 6pm at the Central Library) by Ned Daugherty, an environmental innovator, to learn about how he is solving problems in areas where fresh water is scarce around the world and some potential solutions to our local water needs.  According to Ned: The problem with water is not shortage, but waste. There is abundant water all around us, but it is invisible only because of conventional thinking. Project examples showcase how alternative approaches to water use will exceed mere sustainability, resulting in increased food security, energy, employment and enhanced Natural Capital.
